Blackbaud is seeking a Manager, Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering to grow and oversee a passionate team responsible for developing and maintaining of our solutions and platforms. This role will have a strong focus on ensuring the security, compliance and privacy of our software and infrastructure. As a leader on the team, you will be focused on cultivating a diverse, high-performing team to excel at automation for security best practices and continually improving our engineering processes. You will be working closely with Application Development, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Engineering teams to create, enhance and maintain secure solutions and processes to provide world-class offerings that serve the not-for-profit industry.

  

In this role, you’ll cultivate a high performing team and guide them in advancing their technical and engineering skills to meet the demands of rapidly evolving technologies.  You’ll relentlessly pursue opportunities to advance our operational effectiveness, increase our security posture and increase customer satisfaction. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to pivot your focus between both leading a team through day-to-day activities, as well as focus on developing strategies and focusing on outcomes of the team.  You will also dive into the details to understand our complex system of environments and applications, with a drive to identify opportunities to better our security practices.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead teams in technical design, planning, and delivering on our commitments within assigned responsibilities (application delivery) on time, on budget and with high quality. 
  • Collaborate in vendor engagements to expand our workforce capacity as needed. 
  • Cultivate a diverse, high-performing team that develops, recognizes and retains the best people and challenges them to advance their technical and engineering skills
  • Partnering with varied technical and business unit teams in improving our security best practices and being responsible for driving items to closure and policy adherence
  • Collaborate with others to promote, design and create tactical and strategic plans to look for innovative ways to improve our initiatives and put security first.
  • Partnering with the security teams and tools to continually review and understand new industry security threats, associated technologies and quickly addressing vulnerabilities
  • Navigate and contribute to the intersection of engineering, operations and security, driving automation to increase efficiency and reliability into a more DevSecOps model of software development
  • Partner with Product Management and Application Engineering to align on operational needs, especially focused on security initiatives.
  • Coach and train system engineers in how we transform into thinking and executing on security by design.

What we'll want you to have: 

You are either a security interested engineer who has experience leading small teams working in agile software development, or a development interested security practitioner with leadership and coding skills who understands security best practices, but wants to get closer to development and engineering.

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience required 
  • Experience managing in Operations, Engineering, and/or a DevOps culture in a hybrid platform environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with common web technologies required – Javascript, C#, .NET, HTML, AJAX or other equivalent Object-Oriented language  
  • Experience with vulnerability and patch assessment including good understanding of Windows and Linux patching, vulnerability scoring systems as well as other various commercial offerings for application security testing and analysis.
  • Experience partnering with development and systems engineers on impactful security initiatives. 
  • Understand DevSecOps cultural mindsets, and an engineering focused approach to solving complex security problems 
  • 4+ years of experience in the implementation of cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure) and an understanding of SAAS, PAAS, and IAAS models 
  • Experience building high performance, scalable, robust, 24x7 environments and/or applications  
  • Experience creating scripts or automation, such as Perl, PowerShell, Python, TCL/TK, Ruby or similar for cloud orchestration required (PowerShell preferred)
