This position is part of a key product strategy and portfolio planning function at Blackbaud that focuses on providing oversight to Blackbaud's transformation of its legacy products, solutions, and capabilities. This role is accountable for leading and supporting all the strategic and operational efforts required to migrate and/or transition customers to our newest vertical and horizontal platform offerings and/or infrastructure, when applicable, and ultimately retire the legacy product, solution, or capability. This role is also a people management role which will require product management experience and proven leadership and coaching skills. The Director leads a team of product managers who are the owners for specific capabilities, products, or solutions and is accountable for their managing product P&Ls, leading cross-functional leadership teams, and managing all capability, product, and solution migration and retirement program budgets and goals. In addition, this role ensures that all users in each customer segment within the portfolio have the most delightful and outcome-oriented customer experience possible as they move to new Blackbaud or Partner offerings. Rationalizing our portfolio of products and solutions to reduce risk and improve business performance, while taking care to ensure our customers can achieve the outcomes they desire, is the foundational goal of this team, all while allowing Blackbaud to accelerate innovation within strategic offerings so we can continue to deliver industry-leading technologies to nonprofit and social good organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of product managers on the Migrations and EOL Portfolio team, with extreme focus being given to cultivating a diverse, high-performing team that attracts, develops, recognizes, and retains our best people
  • Drive accountability for all aspects of migration and end-of-service initiatives for a specific capabilities, products, or solutions (or portfolio of products)
  • Engage in the creation and continuous improvement of financial models to define migration and end-of- service timelines and revenue forecasts
  • Direct the activities of a highly matrixed team of cross-functional and cross-business unit stakeholders and leaders, across all levels
  • Ensure product migration and end-of-service goals are met on time and on budget via best-practice product lifecycle management, including achieving targeted end-of- service dates and managing risks and dependencies
  • Achieve product-specific revenue forecasts and customer retention targets, ensuring financial gains occur through platform transitions (ensuring business unit budgeting and resource planning is executed)
  • Partner with Infrastructure and Operations teams, vertical and horizontal product managers, and Customer Operations, as they work toward proposing a legacy product's strategy, customer and P&L assessments, initial go-to-market migration strategies, and RDO planning
  • Support verticals as the lead contact from product management in planning and executing the cross-functional activities necessary to successfully execute customer migrations, such as product readiness evaluations, services pricing models, migration offers, channel enablement, and delivery readiness
  • Ensure a delightful migration customer experience within each segment across entire portfolio where customer retention targets are defined and exceeded, resulting in customer referrals
  • Manage back-office optimization and direct the business processes required to complete the end stages of a product’s lifecycle (including but not limited to billing migration customers, de-provisioning solutions, and infrastructure shut-down processes)
  • Ensure internal HR impact plans are assessed and summarized for key resources that are tied to the operations of legacy solutions within the portfolio
  • Lead regular presentations and reporting to provide visibility to stakeholders and leadership on the status and success of end-of- service initiatives and migrations within the portfolio

Minimum qualifications:

Education:

  • BS or BA, or equivalent experience required
  • MBA preferred

Experience:

  • 15+ years related technical/product/program management experience
  • 10+ years leadership and/or people management experience
  • Advanced industry/vertical knowledge
  • Proven experience transforming organization from a sales-led legacy software org to a product-led, cloud platform / SaaS org
  • Proven experience managing complex and transformation projects
  • Proven experience in operational excellence and process improvement
  • Proven experience dealing effectively with ambiguity and understanding multiple work streams and dependencies
  • Ability to work across organizational structures including Product Management, Engineering, Finance/Accounting, Corporate IT, Sales, Marketing, and Verticals
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tradeoffs and determine optimum solution that keeps the customer experience intact
  • Ability to diffuse conflict, negotiate, and improve critical internal and external relationships
  • Ability to create compelling presentations and business cases
  • Ability to analyze data and provide decision making support around your findings
  • Mastery-level oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, respond to customer needs quickly and effectively
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment
  • Prior sales experience desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, relational database applications, web-based presentation tools, and Salesforce.com preferred 
  • Proficient/expert in MS Office tools and have experience with Agile and Pragmatic Product Management best practices and processes
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps are critical
