A Day in the Life:
As a Senior Strategic Internal Communications Specialist in the Research, Delivery, and Operations (RDO) Center of Excellence (COE), you will own the end-to-end oversight of RDO communication campaigns, projects, and deliverables including content development and implementation, in support of the COE’s top-level strategy and ongoing operations. You will join the highly skilled Business Operations & Enablement team, owning and driving the execution of 4-6 large-scale campaigns with enterprise-wide audiences at any given time.

As a master storyteller, you will have a deep understanding of RDO’s strategic vision and will use multiple communication channels and mediums to increase awareness and an understanding of the strategic vision both within and outside of RDO. The ideal candidate asks the right questions, believes in the power of the written word to connect, has a positive, can-do attitude and is willing to jump in with both feet for whatever the day may bring (even if it’s something you’ve never done before!).
Responsibilities:
Oversight of internal RDO communication campaigns, projects, and deliverables including strategic message development and implementation
Supports the development and implementation of the internal communications strategy, analyzes effectiveness of internal communications efforts, governs and improves existing processes, and researches new communication approaches.
Uses expertise in internal relationship management to advise and influence those who wish to communicate and provides counsel and coaching to ensure effective communication to employees.
Ensures key RDO initiatives are communicated to employees and stakeholders in a way that informs, aligns, strengthens trust and confidence, and engages audiences across the COE and the enterprise.
Acts as a strategic thought partner who supports internal meetings, including RDO All-Hands, Product Management All-Hands, Monthly Operating Reviews, and supporting RDO’s participation in corporate All-Hands, Town Halls and quarterly strategic meetings.
Plans, researches, writes, and edits content for a variety of internal RDO communications, including emails, newsletters, videos, coordinated Q&A responses, company conferences, and other senior-level events, while adhering to the company’s style guide and ensuring the production of high-quality and error-free copy.
Crafts talk tracks for senior leaders in support of internal and external presentations and events.
Incorporates new technology and techniques to communicate effectively within the business, with a direct focus on reaching and engaging a remote workforce.
Creates a seamless flow of information from the top-down and bottom-up, resulting in a two-way understanding of strategic guidance, operational updates, and team needs.
Gathers and evaluates results of communication effectiveness, responding to feedback from staff, and adjusting communication strategy, content, and vehicles accordingly.
Builds and leverages employee feedback channels (monitored in real-time) and analyze survey results to feed optimization initiatives within and outside of the COE.
In conjunction with our Knowledge Management team, organizes and manages RDO’s SharePoint content and RDO’s corporate intranet presence.
Partners closely with corporate communications to align on communication plans and ensure employees across the company are engaged in messages coming out of RDO.
Support portfolio/products programs for multi-segment communications and update language to reflect appropriate regionalization or other requirements

Possesses excellent writing, editorial, and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, knowledge of industry-standard file types, as well as some ability to manipulate graphics and videos for digital communications and intranet sites etc.
Comfortable with public speaking as you will likely to be asked to present to multiple audiences
Innate confidence and high emotional intelligence
Qualifications:
7-10 years of experience in marketing, business communication, journalism, public relations, or related field
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Corporate Communications, PR, Journalism, English or equivalent
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills are essential
Excellent stakeholder management and strategic, communications counseling skills
Interest or experience working on developing and leading communications to engage remote employees
Growth mindset with a knack for creative, out-of-the-box solutions
Solid project and time management skills; must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and shift focus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
Meticulous attention to detail
