We are hiring for Managers of Software Development to join our team!

Blackbaud is hiring multiple Managers of Software Development to cultivate and lead engineering teams that develop, test, deploy, and maintain Blackbaud’s portfolio of solutions. These roles will work to establish and adhere to engineering best practices, identify critical gaps in development processes, create and own strategic projects, and empower teams. They will lead by example and be an agent of innovation while inspiring those around them. They will develop employees through goal setting and coaching best practices and processes. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Work in an agile development environment leading multiple teams of software engineers in development and maintenance activities  

  • Recruit and cultivate highly engaged teams by attracting high performing team members, coaching them on their career growth, and ensuring they are connected to the outcomes and purpose of their work 

  • Manage performance of team members through goal setting and measurement, coaching, recognition, and feedback through regular one-on-one's and check-ins 

  • Mentor team leads and senior engineers to continually improve leadership across the team  

  • Partner with Product Management to prioritize team backlogs, ensure engineering investment is represented and align on market needs and prioritization. 

  • Proactively provide clear, transparent communication on team progress within the organization via project timelines and risk assessments  

  • Lead the continuous improvement of software development processes through collaboration with peers and architects 

What we’ll want you to have: 

  • 3+ years experience managing software development teams in an agile environment  

  • A history of delivering successful large-scale projects from inception to release  

  • Demonstrative experience in software engineering best practices such as design patterns, decoupled architectures, test-driven development, and CI\CD pipelines 

  • History of observing and considerately adopting contemporary software development technologies  

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence  

What we’ll prefer you to have: 

  • Experience developing cloud solutions (Microsoft Azure) and an understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (AKS, Cosmos DB, Azure SQL), Azure DevOps, and Angular

  • Experience managing remote teams and team members both onshore and offshore

  • Experience in the authentication space working with third party identity providers (e.g. Okta, Auth0, etc.)

  • Experience delivering process and technology changes across disconnected teams and organizational boundaries
